Travelling on your own can be a challenge, perhaps especially in later years, when life changes have changed your circumstances. Trips away don’t always feel best value – single person supplements and single beds in tiny bedrooms can take some of the gloss from a well-earned break.
Well, we just want to reassure you that a warm welcome awaits you at Le Petit Cochon, Valence sur Baïse if you are exploring our beautiful corner of South West France on your own. All our bedrooms are ensuite, each is a good size and – because our lovely town house is over 200 years old – come complete with slightly wonky floorboards!
There is no single traveler supplement to worry about. We know that meal times worry some lone travellers – be assured that lunching alone is not a problem in France – everything stops for lunch and you’ll feel right at home in the busy cafes, so you’ll be able to experience the great Gascony produce. But very soon we shall be offering evening meals here, so you are welcome to book a meal and eat with us in the evening if that’s more comfortable. We have a lovely flower-filled peaceful garden to eat in when the sun is out. Finally, let us know when you are coming and if at all possible, we’ll make some time to join you at the local market or for a wine tasting at the local chateaux. We would love for you to explore this gentle corner of France so if we can help you plan a solo visit do please ask.
“Saskia and Andrew are the perfect mix of care, attention, fun, and knowledge. I never felt overlooked or pressured. But magically also never felt neglected. Which as a lone traveler is a difficult mix to get right.” (Extract, TripAdvisor Review, April 19)
